We’re huge fans of anything free here. And any time that there’s some sort of a product or item that can bring us some freebie goodness, we’re all over it. That’s the case with the r4 for the ds. It’s a flash card that will let you play any number of freeware games that are put out by programmers that make games for the fun of coding, and to show off their coding skills in mad coding competitions. There are games that are okay, right up to games that should be sold in your local game store. Games that are created for the r4 for the ds vary between puzzle games, shooting games, remakes of old classic games, and even game emulators that will let you run old arcade games on your hand held console so that you can get some retro fun into the mix.
As with anything free, not all of the game are GREAT, but enough of them are so good that it justifies the $20 expense of the card itself.
